Cultural Tours – Coffee Tour: Colonial Rio Coffee Plantation
One-day excursion in a coffee farm in the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro. The farm opens its doors to visitors showing their furniture, objects, and details of the golden age of coffee exploitation in Rio de Janeiro. There is a staging with period clothes where a “Barão do Café” presents life in the ranch, taking visitors to a senzala (a place where enslaved blacks lived), the Coffee Museum, the coffee plantations, the chapel of the stay and a show of Jogo (African dance) and capoeira. The tour is completed with a traditional lunch with homemade desserts, a coffee tasting, and the traditional “Cachaça”.
